Learning to play guitar.

I picked up my acoustic guitar I got when I was five years old and looked up how to play. The pressure I used on the strings almost bruised the tips of my fingers. D: Looks like I'll have to build up my endurance.

Do you play? Or are you learning to play?

Ooh~ I used to play. Although, I was about 11 and it hurt my fingers so I stopped. xD
I learnt proper songs though, wasn't all twinkle twinkle litte star and mary had a little lamb.

Yes, I play and I know how you feel when you say it hurts your fingers. Fortunately for me I now have big callouses and I don't feel the strings biting into my fingers anymore. It's just practice and playing heaps although I remember it was really hard to do that when it hurt >:

Hmm, can't you use a pick? A friend of me plays guitar, and he always uses one. I don't think his fingers ever hurt.

Zeph took his picks with him when he took his bass down to Florida with him. But the fingers that hurt are the other hand. XD

My nails are long so I think I have to cut them. When I go to move my hand to another fret I hit strings with my nails along the way. >:c And to think I spent all of this time laying around and waiting for them to grow.

I also have an electric guitar at my disposal thanks to the lovely Zephran. It's PURPLE!!

hmm be careful using the pick, apparently if you don't learn to use it properly in the first place it becomes incredibly hard to learn it the right way and can take affect of the quality of playing. Apparently c:

Ouch, that sounds pretty painful, but that's cool anyhow. I haven't ever tried guitar, but I did play cello for a while, and my fingers were almost bruised as well.
